We are Good Apples!

We are so grateful and humbled to announce that the Neighboring Movement was awarded a Good Apple Award from USD 259! Our local school, Harry Street Elementary, nominated us for the award and we couldn’t be more honored!

Special thanks to Principle Junker and Vice Principle Miller for your dedication and innovative approach to education. You are really the good apples and we are so lucky to have you working in our neighborhood!

Because of the Coronavirus, the award ceremony for the award was canceled, but the school made sure we still received our apple and it now is sitting at Adam’s stay-at-home office. It’s a great reminder of the value that comes from being engaged in your local community.

Below are some of the descriptions used for the award copied from the USD 259 website.

Description of the Award Program: The Good Apple Award program allows schools and administrative support centers to recognize employees, volunteers and partners who provide exemplary service to the district and its students. Twice each year, principals and selection committees take up the arduous task of reviewing nominations and selecting only three award recipients for their buildings.

Our Nomination from Harry Street Elementary: Adam and his team joined forces with our Harry Street Family in 2018. From that moment, their arms have been open and hearts have been willing to help our school and community grow. They volunteer their time, share resources and are always up for a brainstorming session! We are thankful for their support!
