Neighboring Tip of the Week - Share produce or flowers from your garden.

As summer hits full steam, gardens can reach their pinnacles of production. Whether you grow produce or flowers, consider using your abundance as an opportunity to neighbor. Clip whatever you have extra of - cucumbers, coriander, or catmint - and head to a neighbor’s house! Be ready for your neighbor to return the favor and offer something to share with you.

Sharing out of our own abundance opens a space for kindness and trust to be established, two neighboring essentials.

In our neighborhood, SoCe, we plant gardens in our front yards, often in garden boxes! Gardening in our front yards helps us be present within our neighborhood and with our neighbors, and it always leads to lots of fun conversations. If you are strategic about where you plant, you won’t simply be growing your favorite veggies or flowers, you’ll be growing neighborly relationships, too!

Happy neighboring!
