I have been asked by the Neighborhood Association to coordinate a neighborhood garden project in SoCe. We are currently working on the design of the garden space. My vision for the garden is for it to be a place where community is fostered among organizations as well as individuals. One of the partnering organizations is Legacy Garden Works. They are hoping to have an urban orchard as part of the garden. It is fun to dream about people from various churches and business in the neighborhood getting to know each other while cultivating clean, healthy food. There are still many details to be worked out for this project to come to fruition, literally, but it feels like a great opportunity to bring together the various assets in our neighborhood.
