As some of you know, at the end of June we went on a road trip to Indy and Evanston, IL - which is on the north side of Chicago. We ate some good food while we were there. In Indianapolis we had lunch at a place called Duos. The roasted eggplant sandwich I had was very good and delicious. Catherine enjoyed the baked tofu sandwich and some of the other staff recommended Becky’s Quinoa Bowl. For supper one night, we ate at Binkley’s. I had the spinach mushroom panini which was very good. According to the Binkley’s website, “from 1928 until the early 70s, the corner of Kessler and College was home to Binkley’s Drug Store, which served the booming Broad Ripple, Forest Hills and Meridian Kessler neighborhoods. Scores of youngsters got their first fountain drink, milkshake, banana split and, yes, cough medicine at Binkley’s.” I would recommend both Duos and Binkley’s very highly for those of you taking vacations to Indianapolis. 

While in Indy, we here hosted by the roving listener teams at Broadway United Methodist Church and Pastor Mike Mather. He was very informative and humorous and also a great host to the 6 of us that went.

In Evanston, IL we had the pleasure of talking with Mr. John McKnight over lunch at an Italian restaurant called Trattoria D.O.C. There I had the Penne Pomodoro. The only problem I found was that it was so good I could have eaten 2-3 helpings! I recommend this establishment especially between noon and 3 pm. It is a great neighborhood place to stop in for lunch. They easily accommodated our table of 11. The only bad thing was the Chicago driving, and for those of you who have been there and experienced that pleasure, you know what fun it is!
