During our immersion (a few weeks ago) we met with Allison Celik of the Wichita Area Circles Network. The Circles program is an amazing program designed to address poverty, but it does so in a way that honors the voice and ability of those seeking to change their lives. Furthermore, they are hosting a learning experience tomorrow, June 4th from 9:00 to Noon in Derby, Kansas. It is called the Cost of Poverty Experience, and it helps people learn more about the challenges of poverty and what poverty really involves.
