Mark has several gifts, including a great sense of humor. While doing interviews with neighbors, we ask all kinds of questions about the types of work they've done. While asking all these questions Mark likes to ask, "Have you ever driven an ambulance?" So far, everyone has said "No." Then Mark says, "Oh, don't feel bad, I haven't met any ambulance drivers yet." 

But seriously, Mark brings other gifts besides his sense of humor. He has a wonderful relational skill of closing an interview, or even just a quick neighborly conversation, with an encouraging comment about something the individual has expressed. People feel like he really paid attention to them and that he cares about them - even if they declined to do an interview.
